There are no prerequisites required for enrolling in this qualification. Applicants are expected to have Year 10 or equivalent level literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to develop moderately complex programs of work without close supervision. Where applicants fall outside of this profile techniques for customising learning material, delivery strategy and assessment tools are employed.
The course is delivered to individuals and groups through a range of models including distance education, supported distance education, and facilitated learning blended flexible delivery. Learning Materials and tutorial support is provided to suit the mode that the participant chooses as the preferred learning mode.
Upon successful completion of this qualification, you should be able to demonstrate:
The course duration is 24 months when completed as a traineeship, and is therefore eligible for Existing Worker participation. The qualification can also be achieved in a shorter period of time when not completed as part of a traineeship.
The time it takes different people to obtain the competencies will vary depending on such things as work experience and prior learning. Nevertheless, it is estimated that the 'average' student should be able to complete the qualification in approximately 4 hours a week of study over a 24 month period.
